Planning for the future
We did not get any feedback from people or relatives of people who were at the end of their lives. However we could see from care plans, and staff feedback that care was effective in this area.
Staff told us they had training to support people at the end of their lives and they had found this useful when they needed to support people. Staff said they were able to refer to care plans to understand what people’s preferences were.
Care plans included information about people’s wishes, some care records included a lot of information about the person’s life and experiences. However, not all were completed. This was being addressed. Care plans included information about any advanced decisions, including DNACPR and information about people with authority to make decisions for the person if required.
