How we work with people

Good relationships play a vital part in the way we work. They help us gather information about services, including local evidence about people's experiences of care.

Local relationships and partnerships with national bodies also help us to identify good practice and work with others to raise standards of care.

Working with the public

Working closely with the public helps us to focus on what matters to people. People who use services play an important part in everything we do, helping us to improve the way we do our job, taking part in our inspections – through our Experts by Experience programme – and helping us to recruit and train our staff.

Working with other organisations and groups

Other organisations and groups we work with include:

  • Care providers.
  • Local organisations and community groups like local Healthwatch and local authorities.
  • National partner organisations such as Monitor and NHS England.
  • Other inspectorates, including Ofsted and HMI Prisons.
