Well-led
We assessed 1 quality statement from this key question. We have combined the scores for these areas with scores based on the rating from the last inspection, which was good. Our rating for this key question remains good. There were effective governance and management systems in place to monitor and reduce risk, and to find ways to develop the service. We found some improvements were needed to care planning documentation and with risk management systems for families and or couples working together. However, the provider was receptive to the feedback and took action to make the necessary changes. The provider had submitted all necessary notifications and information sharing as required.

Governance, management and sustainability
Staff and the leadership team said regular supervision, competency spot checks and appraisals were in place, records seen confirmed this and where training needs were identified staff received this support. The leadership team advised how they had, “reviewed and implemented policies and procedures to ensure that we are following correct and current legislation, responding to concerns and amending actions as needed. For example, the harassment policy which now includes bullying.” They added that they, “take a holistic approach to ensure when it comes to concerns raised and we discuss these concerns as a team and reflect and carry out lessons learnt.” Records seen confirmed this.
There were systems in place to monitor the quality of service in order to gather people's views. These included a range of checks and audits to monitor the quality and safety of the service and to help drive improvements. People, their relatives and staff were encouraged to express their opinions, and their feedback was acted on. The provider understood their regulatory requirements and submitted notifications to CQC appropriately.
