Governance, management and sustainability
Leadership, governance and culture were used to drive and improve delivery of quality care within the practice. The practice completed an annual staff survey to support staff and ensure they were happy within their work. Staff also had annual appraisals and regular check ins with managers. Staff we spoke with were positive about the managers and leaders supporting them in their work and wellbeing. There was a strong sense of team working and support across staff and management. Practice leaders were aware of challenges to sustainability for the practice and had put in place actions to mitigate these risks where possible. The practice reported that there was a small backlog of summarising to complete due to staff shortages and leave, however the practice had an action plan and risk assessed this.
We saw regular meetings were completed within the practice across specific specialties and staffing. All meetings were minuted which captured discussions and actions taken by the practice. It was clear the governance structure was well embedded within the practice.
