Our view of the service
Broadoaks Care Home is a residential care home providing accommodation with personal care for up to 39 people. The service provides care to older people. We carried out our on-site assessment on 1 October 2024. At the time of our assessment there were 10 people being supported with personal care and 1 person without the regulated activity of personal care. This was a responsive assessment. We looked at quality statements relating to areas in Safe, Responsive and Well-Led. We looked at 4 of the 5 key questions, we did not assess all quality statements during this assessment. For those areas we did not assess, we used the ratings awarded at the last inspection to calculate the overall rating.
People's experience of this service
People and their relatives told us they felt safe in the home and with staff. Relatives liked that the service was not fully occupied, one relative said, “I like it when I call the home, staff know who I am straight away, I never need to introduce myself because it is always the same staff.” Another said, “When I visit staff make me a cup of tea and offer biscuits and I feel like I have come home.” People experienced activities with staff who were lively, full of energy and had creative ideas to involve people. For example, staff were supporting people to make a Halloween mummy using different peoples limbs as moulds. We observed that people were amused and enjoying the staff interactions.
