The key question of responsive was rated good at our last inspection, however, at this assessment we identified a breach of the legal regulations. People were not receiving care in line with their choices and preferences.

Person-centred Care

During our onsite visit we observed staff using language that was not person centred. One staff member referred to people as room numbers. The registered manager told us inspectors should use the staff toilet as it was ‘much nicer’. People were supported to take part in meaningful activities. We observed there to be no activities taking place in the service our assessment. People's daily notes confirmed a lack of activities. For example, over an eight day period between 11 January 2024 and 18 January 2024, there was 1 recorded activity, however this activity was at 06:15 am on 17 January and was detailed as ‘Taken to sitting room, chatted to a member of staff, chatted reasonable amount.’ Another person's records detailed that over a 7 day period, between 18 January 2024 and 25 January 2024, they had not taken part in any activities. During this period there is no evidence that activities were offered or declined by the person.
