Our view of the service
Stanholm Residential Care Home is a residential care home providing personal care to people who may be living with dementia. We completed this assessment between 31 January 2024 and 29 February 2024, we visited the service on 31 January 2024. We completed this assessment following concerns raised by healthcare professionals about the management of risk and staff skills, which placed people at risk. We found the quality of the service had deteriorated since our last inspection. People living at the service were placed at risk as potential risks to their health and welfare had not been assessed. When people were at risk of abuse and discrimination, concerns had not been recognised and reported to the local authority. Action had not been taken to reduce the risk of incidents happening again. The management of the service was poor, there was no oversight by the provider to assess the quality of the service and drive improvement. The management team within the service did not understand their responsibilities to work with healthcare professionals to manage people’s health needs and keep them safe. We identified 7 breaches of regulations across all the areas of the service including safe care, safeguarding, management and the recruitment of staff.
