People received kind and compassionate care from staff who used positive, respectful language which people understood and responded well to. Staff treated people with dignity and respect when helping them with daily living tasks. Care was personalised and staff worked to deliver person centred care which maintained people’s dignity with understanding. There were systems and process to ensure people’s care plans were inclusive of people’s choice, preference and information important to them.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

Staff relationships with people were caring and supportive. Staff spoke confidently about people’s specific needs and how they liked to be supported. Staff adopted a strong and visible personalised approach in how they worked with people. Staff spoke of the importance of empowering people to be involved in their day to day lives. They explained it was important people were at the heart of planning their care and support needs. Staff treated people with dignity and respect when helping them with daily living tasks. Staff told us how they maintained people’s privacy and dignity when assisting with personal care. For example, asking what support they required before providing care and explaining what needed to be done so that the person knew what was happening.

People received kind and compassionate care from staff who used positive, respectful language which people understood and responded well to. Comments included, “Mum’s wonderful carers provide excellent care for my mum, and she is delighted with them”, “The support is brilliant, and I am very happy” and “I would highly recommend the company as both my mum and I are delighted with the excellent care mum receives.” People felt valued by staff who showed genuine interest in their well-being and quality of life.

Health professionals praised the service for providing kind and compassionate care with support specific to people’s needs.

Staff asked people if they needed any support even if they were known to be independent to ensure they felt cared for. People were encouraged to remain as mobile as possible.

Care was personalised and staff worked to deliver person centred care which maintained people’s dignity with understanding. Comments included, “The carers will encourage my husband to do as much of his personal care as he can manage to allow him choice and independence.”

There were systems and process to ensure people’s care plans were inclusive of people’s choice, preference and information important to them. Further ongoing processes assured care plans were regularly reviewed and updated as people's needs changed. People were able to give continual feedback to the service.
