Well-led
Staff we spoke with did not always feel part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and only felt part of the unit they worked, due to its location. Due to the location of Wathwood, the service was unable to share staff with other services and found themselves relying on local staff. Senior leaders visited the service, and they received communication from the trust, but they still felt like a local service.
This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Leaders and staff told us that they felt that they worked for ‘Wathwood’ and struggled to identify with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust due to the location of the service. They told us senior leaders visited the service, and they received communication from the trust, but they still felt like a local service. Leaders had regular contact with the other services in the trust so they could share knowledge. Due to the location of Wathwood, the service was unable to share staff with other services and found themselves relying on local staff. The trust sent communication regarding local riots happening in Nottingham but failed to discuss one of the areas was close to Wathwood. This showed a lack of acknowledgement to the services outside of Nottinghamshire. Leaders and staff found this disappointing.
