Our view of the service

This assessment took place from 20 March 2024 to 09 May 2024. This assessment was planned in response to concerns raised regarding the management of risk and standards of governance at the service. We did not identify any breaches of regulation during this inspection and the service had made improvements. There were systems in place to report and investigate incidents, accidents, and any safeguarding concerns. When concerns had arisen, action had been taken to address concerns. Staff had been focusing on improving skills and knowledge and had undertaken the training they needed to support people. Medicines were managed safely. The level of information for staff in care plans had improved. However, there was still some work to be done on some care plans. The registered manager was aware of this. People were positive about the staff who supported them and felt they were treated with kindness and respect. Governance of the service had improved. There was a registered manager in place who was driving forward improvement. There were regular meetings for staff and a system of clinical governance in place. Auditing was used to assess where improvements were needed and action was taken as appropriate.

People's experience of this service

People told us they were happy at the service and felt well supported. Comments from people included, “I make my own decisions about what to wear, eat, drink, do and where I want to visit, for example to watch a [sports match].” And, “I would recommend this place because the staff are kind and listen to you.” All the relatives were consistently complimentary about staff being approachable and available to them whenever needed to speak to someone.
