People’s care, treatment and support promoted equality, removed barriers or delays and protects their rights. Leaders and staff proactively sought ways to address barriers to improve people’s experience, acted on information about people's experiences and outcomes and allocated resources and opportunities to achieve equity. The practice complied with legal equality and human rights requirements, including avoiding discrimination, having regard to the needs of people with different protected characteristics and making reasonable adjustments to support equity in experience and outcomes. The practice complied with the legal equality and human rights requirements including avoiding discrimination, having regard to the needs of people with different protected characteristics and making reasonable adjustments to support equity in experience and outcomes. The practice had information available in alternative formats and equipment in place to support patients who had a hearing impairment. The practice had taken steps to promote patient confidentiality.

Staff told us of training they had received in equality and diversity and understood the needs of the practice population. The staff and leaders proactively seek ways to address barriers to improve patients experience, this was through projects within the practice and reviewing complaints and compliments.

Feedback we received found that peoples experience was positive regarding equality within the practice. Patients told us they felt supported to give their views and that they were listened to and acted upon to improve care.
