During an assessment under our new approach
The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to fit and proper persons employed. Improvements were found at this inspection and the provider was no longer in breach of this regulation.
Managers investigated incidents robustly. There were enough skilled staff with the right qualifications and experience. Managers made sure staff received training & appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Staff managed medicines well & involved people in planning any changes.
Most people were involved in their assessments, but some people and relatives felt they had not been involved, mainly when changes had occurred. Staff reviewed assessments taking account of people’s communication, personal and health needs. Staff worked with relevant agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving services.
People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity. Staff obtained consent from people before providing personal care.
Leaders & staff had a shared vision and culture based on learning & trust. Staff felt they were treated equally, free from bullying or harassment. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities. There was a culture of continuous improvement with staff given appropriate training and resources.
