Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

The patient we spoke with told us: Staff involved them in decisions about their care and gave clear information to help them make informed choices about their treatment. Staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. They were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights. Staff were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles. Leaders described how they supported the wellbeing of staff.

We did not receive any information from partners.

The practice had information governance arrangements and staff were aware of the importance of protecting patients’ personal information. Staff password protected patients’ electronic care records, and paper records were stored securely and complied with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). We saw the general environment helped to protect patients’ privacy and dignity. There was limited space in the waiting area, but staff had implemented measures to protect patients’ confidentiality such as offering a separate room for confidential discussions . Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion.
