The activities co-ordinator told how activities were designed to match people. They told us, "People are involved in planning the activities. We asked what their preferences were. We plan activities based on events, seasons." Staff told us they respected people including their culture and religion. One staff member told us "Treating everyone with fairness and respect."

There were systems in place to involve people in making decisions about the service and their experience of living at the service. People were invited to give their opinions and audits completed made sure people had equal access to activities and support to access the community when they wanted.

Relatives told us they thought people were treated as individuals. One relative told us, "I would say he was treated as an individual." They told us the support staff had given their loved one meant they had improved enough to out with them, "Now they are better I can start taking them back out. We took them to the pub Saturday they loved it."
