At the assessment on 1 July 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation: Medical emergency equipment was available as stated in resuscitation council UK guidance. Systems to ensure all equipment was in working order and medicines were in date were in place and clear guidance for staff on how to complete these checks was implemented. The practice had risk assessments to minimise the risk that could be caused from substances that are hazardous to health. Safety date sheets were available for all materials including cleaning products.

At the assessment on 1 July 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation: Monitoring of completion of tasks to minimise the risk and spread of legionella were in place. We found that where required, action was taken to address any issues identified. We saw satisfactory records of servicing of the emergency lighting.

Leaders told us of the systems in place to manage risks for patients, staff, equipment and the premises.

At the assessment on 1 July 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation: The practice appeared clean and there was an effective schedule in place to ensure it was kept clean. We observed the decontamination of used dental instruments, which aligned with national guidance.

Patients told us that the practice looked clean, and equipment appeared to be in a good state of repair.

At the assessment on 1 July 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation: Monitoring of completion of tasks to minimise the risk and spread of legionella were in place. We found that where required, action was taken to address any issues identified.

The provider told us how they ensured the premises and equipment were clean and well maintained. They demonstrated knowledge and awareness of infection prevention and control processes.
