Our current view of the service

Updated 4 November 2024

We carried out this announced, on-site assessment on 3 December 2024. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. Our assessment highlighted some additional minor areas of risk. The provider was open to our feedback and took immediate action in response to these. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, these were not consistently adhered to. The practice is in Ditton, Widnes and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was portable ramp access to the practice and car parking spaces were available near the practice. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of assessment there were 11 members of staff. During the assessment we spoke with 3 dentists (1 of which was also the practice manager), 1 dental therapist, and 2 dental nurses.

Patients told us that when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
