Ratings - Acute wards for adults of working age and psychiatric intensive care units
Our view of the service
Priory Lakeside View is an independent hospital which provides inpatient care to adults of working age who have acute mental health needs. The hospital receives referrals from NHS hospitals. The hospital has 30 beds across 3 wards. It has 1 female ward called Swan and 2 male wards called Robin and Finch. We carried out an on site assessment on the 1 and 2 October 2024 and asked for, and reviewed data related to the assessment. Our last inspection was in 2019. The service was rated requires improvement in safe and good in effective, caring, responsive and well led. We assessed the service to ensure that the current service users needs were being met. We inspected quality statements under safe, caring and well led.
People's experience of this service
People said they felt safe and supported and staff treated them with kindness, dignity and respect. People said staff were helpful and caring. They said the environment was safe and clean. Activities were available which people enjoyed. Most people told us that they were involved in their care and discharge plans and that they attended meetings where they were able to give feedback. One person told us they had not been involved in their discharge planning and one said they had not been involved in their care planning. People told us that they felt listened to and knew how to raise a concern. Most people said there were enough staff although told us Swan ward could feel short staffed at times.
