During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 10 June 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks, and recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and they were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Adam Sapera Dental Practice is in Belsize Park in the London Borough of Camden and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 1 principal dentist, 1 lead dental nurse, 1 dental hygienist, and the practice manager who was also a qualified dental nurse. The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentist, the lead dental nurse and the practice manager.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to three patients and all of them were positive about the service. They said they had been using the clinic for many years and they had always been satisfied with the care and treatment they received. Patients told us the staff were kind and knew what they were doing. They said they were given full information by the dentist so they could make an informed decision about their treatment.

Patients told us their privacy and dignity were respected by all staff. We saw staff interacted with patients in a respectful manner. Patients told us they would recommend the dental practice to others as they were satisfied with the care they had received. One person told us a friend recommended the dental practice to them.

Patients told us the dentist and the other members of staff were friendly. They said their dental treatment was provided to them in a professional manner. They said they were aware of how to make a complaint. Patients confirmed they felt safe using the service.
