Independence, choice and control

Score: 3

People's independence, choice and control was promoted. People told us the staff were caring. People did not always have access to meaningful activities and regular community access. However, following our inspection the provider shared evidence that this had improved.

People were supported to take part in activities to improve their well being however, feedback from staff was mixed and some told us there was enough activites others said there wasn't enough and that staffing levels didn't always make this possible.

We observed positive interactions between people and staff. People were supported to build relationships and networks such as advocacy. We observed a driver from the provider offering to take people out on first come first served basis and this wasn't a person centred approach.

Processes were in place to ensure people were included when making choices and decisions to ensure peoples rights were upheld and promoted.
