Caring
We looked at all the key questions in this domain. People were supported by staff who were caring. People were treated and respected as individuals. Staff were well supported.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
Relatives told us staff were caring. Comments included, "They are very respectful and caring, acknowledging [person's] privacy and dignity."
Staff told us how supported people during personal care in a person centred and respectful way.
There were policies and procedures in place to ensure people were appropriately supported by staff who were skilled in providing person-centred care.
Treating people as individuals
Relatives told us staff respected people's preferences. Comments included, "They are very kind and caring, respecting [person's] privacy and dignity. They always give [person] a little hug and jig which [person] loves. [Person] has 2 main carers including a male who does not give personal care. [Person] is very happy with that."
The registered manager was passionate about the care they provided and gave us examples of how they supported people in a kind and person centred way.
The service ensure people were respected and treated as individuals. Their care was assessed and planned with their involvement and in line with their requirements and preferences.
Independence, choice and control
People needs were assessed before start of care and care plans around these were put in place.
The registered manager gave us examples of how they encouraged people to be independent.
In our review of care records, feedback from people, staff and management team, we found people's independence was promoted and choices respected. People’s needs were assessed before start of care and care plans around these were put in place.
Responding to people’s immediate needs
Relatives said care met people's individual needs. Their comments included, "We are very happy with the level of responsive(ness) to [person's] care needs."
The registered manager knew people and gave us examples of who they supported people with care that met their needs and preferences.
Workforce wellbeing and enablement
Staff told us they felt well supported by the registered manager. They added, "They ask us about our wellbeing."
There were processes in place to support staff. This included regular supervision session, wellbeing calls and team meetings. Staff told us this was supportive.
