Our view of the service
This assessment took place between 11 and 18 October 2024. Legacy agency is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care services to people in their own homes. During this assessment we looked at all of 5 key questions, safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. The service was providing care to 4 people, but not all received a regulated activity. We made 2 recommendations in relation to safe recruitment and documentation of mental capacity assessments. This was because some areas of recruitment required improvement and records of mental capacity assessments were not always clear. The quality assurance systems in place were proportional to the size of the service however its effectiveness could be improved in relation to acting on the areas identified for improvement at this assessment. Staff had received training to completed their work safely. Staffing was safely managed. Medicines and risks to people’s care were well managed. Staff were kind and caring. People were provided with person centred care that was planned around their needs. The registered manager had a good oversight of the service.
