Person-centred Care

Score: 4

People received a range of support depending on their needs and care plans. Some people received living in care which included support to access the wider community for holidays and shopping, while others received support with personal care only. Care plans were reviewed with the person or with people who are important to them. Care plans have a lot of detail that included likes, dislikes, history, daily routines, and preferences. We reviewed 2 formats of care plan which included accessible care plans that were in place for people with a learning disability, these care plans included photos and pictures of reference. Feedback from people was positive and described how staff treat them as individuals and valued their interests.

The registered manager reviewed people's care to ensure they received appropriate support, taking in to account peoples preferences. The registered manager told us they would rather wait and be a little passed the review date if waiting means the person can be involved in reviewing their care.

We saw evidence of people having been supported to have a holiday, without support this might not have been achievable.

The provider had systems in place to ensure people's feedback was received. We reviewed feedback from people that included how engaged they felt with their care, people's experiences, and involvement. This allowed the provider to identify if any improvements were needed based on people's feedback.
