Our view of the service

July VII Limited t/a Wykenhurst Residential Home is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 25 people with a variety of needs including people living with dementia and those living with mental health conditions. The accommodation is spread over three properties and floors. The left side of the house provides a more independent environment with its own facilities. At the time of the inspection there were 21 people using the service. We completed an assessment of the service between 21 May 2024 and 27 June 2024. We visited the service on the 5 June 2024. This assessment was prompted by information we held about the service. We spoke with people and relatives remotely about their experience of the service. We assessed 6 quality statements in the safe key question, 2 quality statements in the effective key question, 2 quality statements in the caring key question, 1 quality statement in the responsive key question and 5 quality statements in the well-led key question. We will assess the other quality statements in future assessments. The overall rating for this service remains Good.

People's experience of this service

During our assessment we spoke with 3 people and 4 relatives. People and their relatives felt safe and knew who to speak with if they had any concerns. People and their relatives told us they had no concerns about how staff supported them with their medicines. Relatives told us they were kept fully informed and were involved in their loved one’s care. People and relatives told us they were supported and looked after by kind, caring, competent and compassionate staff and they received the support they needed.
