People received a personalised service which was tailored and responsive to their needs. A relative told us the care their family member received was holistic and had been enriched by the providers approach in supporting the person. People received care which was underpinned by the Right Support, Right Care and Right Culture guidance and other evidence based guidance when supporting people with complex emotional needs. Staff supported people to improve their experiences and provide them with opportunities to achieve equity and positive outcomes.

Processes and policies were in place which underpinned the ethos of empowering people to share their views and to ensure people's rights and equality were promoted and maintained. Systems were in place to protect people and staff from discrimination.

Staff we spoke with told us people's care plans were personalised and provided them with the information they needed to know to support people. Staff gave examples of providing people with choices and promoting their independence such as choosing clothes to wear and outings. One staff member explained they used 'hand over hand' guidance to support people to brush their teeth independently. Staff stated they supported people to participate in activities of their choice and maintain contact with their friends and family.

Relatives told us they were confident that people were treated fairly and without discrimination or prejudice. They felt their family member's care was centred around their needs and preferences. Staff supported to people to overcome barriers to live a fulfilled life such as supporting people with activities of their choice.
