Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. We looked if people were valued and treated as partners in their care. During this inspection we found people collaborated with staff to ensure they had independence, choice and control. At the last inspection this was requires improvement. This continues to be require improvements we only looked at 1 quality statement.

Independence, choice and control

People told us staff were caring and respectful. Their comments included, "The staff are great; I haven’t had a problem with any one of them. We are respected as ordinary people, they don’t boss us about, don’t stick their nose up if we ask for anything." Relatives agreed staff were kind to people. Comments included, "The staff are lovely, they love [person] and have a laugh with [them]."

Staff were able to explain how they respected people's choices and their privacy. Manager led by example and interacted with people and relatives in a caring and respectful way.

In our observations, we found staff were caring towards people.

Staff were kind and caring to people and promoted their independence and control. The provider had an equality and human's right policy and we found this was being followed. The provider was seeking feedback from people and feedback reviewed as positive. We reviewed evidence showing positive feedback from relatives of people and records of people being involved in activities that promoted their independence.
