Equity in experiences and outcomes
People told us they had key workers who worked closely with them. People had the opportunity to discuss their care and support needs with staff to ensure they were receiving the optimal care. One person said, “I have independence there are no restrictions. I prefer to go out with staff and you can always negotiate a trip and the staff will arrange this.” Another person said, "Thanks to the manager we have been able to go away on holiday. I went away last year and this year, it never happened before this manager."
Staff supported people to build on their own independence and well-being. People were encouraged to access the community, have holidays, attend church, and visit family. Staff understood people’s rights under equality and human rights. The registered manager supported people to access healthcare to ensure their physical and mental wellbeing was monitored and reviewed.
Staff reviewed people’s care and support records regularly to ensure they continued to meet people’s needs. The registered manager supported people to access healthcare such as, GPs, hospital specialists, dentist, and opticians to ensure their physical and mental wellbeing was catered for.
