Score: 3

Some relatives told us their family members were not experiencing their local community or having enough social experiences outside of the home. Such activities had declined since the pandemic and had not improved.

The provider told us people’s care and support plans had been reviewed and updated. These were now more robust and identified additional medical support needs for some people. The provider had secured additional resources to support these specific needs, including more social activities. Staff told us there were annual person-centred reviews for the people they supported where plans were made for the coming year and achievable goals and outcomes were set. One staff member said, “The individual has all equality respected, without anyone being treated specially.”

Processes around social enrichment and engagement and required staffing had been reviewed. People were now being supported more to go out into the community and to attend activities such as swimming.
