Organisations we regulate

You have told us that all the registered managers who are part of your application are applying for new registrations.

If you are an individual who will be in sole charge of the service on a daily basis, you do not need to appoint a registered manager. Check what else you need to do before you start.

New registered managers

You must submit your registered managers’ applications at the same time as your new provider application.

When you apply online, the Provider Portal will automatically send an email to any registered managers you require for your application. The email will contain the web address and password they’ll need to log into the system and complete their registered manager application online. Once completed, your registered managers’ applications will be automatically included with your main application. This will reduce the risk of your application being rejected.

Continuing registered managers

If you are registering with us and taking over locations from an existing registered provider, and any of the registered managers wish to continue their registration managing the same type of service and the same regulated activities at the same location(s), you should use a different process: New provider application with continuing registered manager

Before you start

Take time to check whether you are ready to apply for registration. If you have not completed the tasks below, you will not be able to complete your registration with us. We assess applications for adult social care providers against our assessment framework. This mirrors the questions we ask when we inspect a service.

Checklist of things you need to do before you start

Applications from domiciliary care agencies (DCAs) for the regulated activity of personal care are the most likely to be delayed or refused. If you’re considering applying for registration to run a DCA, check you can show us you meet the requirements.
