During a routine inspection
We saw that people were supported to be involved in their care and were given choices. One person said, 'I've been asked what I want and how I want staff to help me.'
Staff had the information they needed to know how to support people to meet their individual needs. We saw that people's needs had been assessed by a range of health professionals and their healthcare needs had been monitored and met.
People spoken with told us that they felt safe there. Systems were in place to ensure that people were safeguarded from harm. We saw good interactions between people and staff and that people were at ease in the company of staff.
Staff had the skills and knowledge to know how to safely support people to meet their needs. One person said, 'The staff are good here, they support me.'
People were asked for their views about the service and these were listened to. We saw that audits were completed and action was taken to make improvements where needed.

During a themed inspection looking at Learning Disability Services
Patients told us that they were involved in the decision about moving to Pond Lane.
One patient told us that they have a plan about moving on from Pond Lane, so they are prepared for this and will be ready to be more independent.
Patients told us that they have a care plan and that staff follow it to help them to meet their needs.
A relative told us, 'My relative most definitely gets the support they need, their life has completely turned around since being there, they have put them back on track and been on the ball with their health appointments.'
When asked about how staff support them to meet their health needs, patients said, 'Staff notice if I am not well, they talk to me and ask how I feel.' 'I've been to the GP today. I have health check ups.' 'I tell staff if I'm not feeling well and they call the doctor.'
Patients told us that they are given choices about what they do. They said that they do the activities they enjoy and are supported to go out when they want to.
We asked patients if they had an advocate, one patient said, 'I do, they help me by talking to me and taking me out.' Another patient was not sure what an advocate was but thought it was a good idea when explained to them.
Patients said they felt safe living there. Relatives said they thought their relative was safe and being looked after.
We asked patients what they would do if they or another patient was being abused. They told us they would tell staff but they were unsure what staff would do about it.
Patients told us they had not been restrained here or seen any other patients being restrained.
