During a routine inspection
Another person said. "I feel safe here." Another person told us. 'I was not confident about speaking up in groups but can speak to my nurse and I feel more confident to stand up for myself.' We saw that people were encouraged to engage in their support programme and accessed specialist therapies from staff. This demonstrated to us that care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare.
One person told us. 'The food is fine and I am learning to cook.' We saw that the service had systems in place for assessing and monitoring the quality of the service and a senior manager visited weekly to monitor quality and support staff. There was a safeguarding policy and procedure in place and support for staff through supervision and appraisals. A multi-disciplinary meeting was held each week and half the people who used the service would meet with the team to discuss progress and the other half the following week. People could meet the multi-disciplinary team more frequently than this if the need arose which might be around the time of discharge. We saw staff responded effectively to requests made upon them by people who used the service.
