During a routine inspection

We spoke with ten patients about whether staff explained care and treatment to them in a way they understood. We were told that staff were kind and respectful towards them. Comments included "treated magnificently' and 'I've been treated well". Peoples' needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. We spoke to ten patients and several relatives about the quality of the care and treatment. One patient said "the staff are very good. They come quickly. They're very nice. I feel safe. They come and ask me how I am." However, some patients told us that they did not always feel that staff had kept them fully informed about their care and discharge plans.

We found that care was delivered in a clean and hygienic environment and that the provider had taken steps to provide care in an environment that is suitably designed and adequately maintained. We also found that the hospital had effective systems in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
