Safe
We rated safe as good. We assessed seven quality statements. There was a positive learning safety culture most of the time where events were investigated, and learning was shared to promote good practice. Staff were open and honest when things went wrong or could be a risk. Staff protected people from abuse. Staff provided safe care and treatment. The environment was safe, well maintained, free from infection and met peoples needs. Staff were trained and competent and had the right skills to meet people's needs. They had the opportunity to learn and gain experience. Medicines were stored safely. The service made sure shifts were covered. However, not all staff had permanent contracts, clinical volunteers and bank staff had’ Terms of Engagement’ to care and convey patients. The service utilised clinical volunteers to care for and convey patients on various activities.
