Updated 1 July 2024
We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 6 November 2024. We found the practice had not met all regulations. The practice had ineffective oversight systems to manage risks and to ensure continuous service improvement. Improvements were required to ensure all outstanding actions on risk assessments were completed and audits were being used to drive improvement. Although recruitment procedures reflected current legislation, these were not consistently adhered to. However, patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. The practice is in Hindley, Wigan and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice is on the first floor which is accessed by stairs. Access is not available for those who use wheelchairs. Car parking spaces were available near the practice. The practice had 1 treatment room. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse (who is also the practice manager), 1 dental technician and the receptionist. We identified regulations the provider was not complying with. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the body of the report. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
