People were asked for feedback and felt listened to. One person told us, ‘’They treat me as an individual.’’ A relative said, ‘’Management here is superb. All the staff are happy and proactive in every conceivable way.’’

Staff knew people well and showed an awareness of people’s individual needs, their differences, and preferences. Comments included, ‘’Everyone in here is an individual. Everyone is welcome at Magna Care Centre. We are one big family,’’, ‘’I treat everyone with respect and treat everyone fairly. I would report any discrimination immediately,’’, ‘’You get to know the residents needs and wishes. We involve the families in what to do. The main thing is to get to know someone,’’ and ‘’We treat people with dignity and respect, residents, family, and staff too.’’ The registered manager told us people had an option to join weekly live streams of church services from the local church or to attend it in person on an ad hoc basis. Recently the home started to offer barber services as an alternative to hairdressing services.

The provider had an up-to-date Equality and Human Rights policy. People and their relatives were asked for feedback on the care they received. All actions taken by the home as a result of recent surveys were included in the ‘’You Said, We Did’’ form which was displayed in the main lounge. These included an introduction of a night owl menu and a review of call bells records.
