Well-led
We found this practice was providing well led care in accordance with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance. The provider had made improvements in relation to the regulatory breach we found at our on-site assessment on 17 July 2024.

Governance, management and sustainability
At the follow up focused assessment on 12 December 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation: Automatic emergency lighting was available throughout the practice. Oropharyngeal airways size 0,1,2,3 and 4 were available. Clear facemasks size 0,1,2,3 and 4 were available. A child size self-inflating bag with reservoir was available. The bin in the decontamination room was foot operated. The sensor on the female sanitary waste bin worked effectively. The glass doors to the hygienist's room were covered which fully protected the privacy and dignity of a patient when sat in the treatment chair. A general data protection regulation (GDPR) compliant accident book was available.
At the follow up focused assessment on 12 December 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation: A fire risk assessment was carried out in 2022. A review of this had been carried out. Fire risk assessment action plan points had been addressed. A manual scrubbing brush and glove replacement protocol was in place, and followed, to ensure regular changes took place. Cleaning schedules were available and completed appropriately. A lone working risk assessment was available for the cleaner. The out of hours cleaner had access to control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) risk assessments and safety data sheets for the products they used. Evidence was available to verify that staff had oversight of the standard of cleaning. Prescriptions were tracked and a log of pads was maintained appropriately. Dispensed medicines were stock controlled appropriately. Evidence of 12 hours of sedation training was available for the nurse who supported sedation treatment. The risks associated with having 1 oxygen cylinder available and treating patients under sedation at the same time as other patients in the practice had been considered and a second cylinder was obtained. The practice had a recruitment policy and procedures in place to help them employ suitable staff. Procedures were in place for new staff to carry out a structured induction. The practice had arrangements to ensure staff training was up-to-date and reviewed at the required intervals. Sedation equipment was serviced and calibrated as per manufacturer's instructions. Radiography audits were carried out appropriately. The practice had also made further improvements: Antibiotic prescribing audits were carried out appropriately. Hygienist patient record audits were carried out appropriately.
