During a routine inspection
People we spoke with said 'my carer's one in a million, I wouldn't change her for the world' and 'I'd be lost without my carer'. Staff we spoke with said 'you become one of the family'. Everyone we spoke with felt that their support plan reflected their identified needs and that if they weren't happy about them they could 'speak to a member of staff'. People that we spoke with said that they knew the names of their carers; comments included 'they've been very good, very helpful' and 'they provide relief for carers'. One person told us 'I usually have the same carers, I only have someone different when staff are sick or on holiday'.
All staff had access to mandatory training including the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. Specialist training was provided for instance stroke awareness and pressure areas training.
There was evidence that the views of people who use the service were obtained annually via questionnaires. People we spoke with felt that their opinions were listened to.
