During an inspection in response to concerns
The inspection was unannounced; this meant that the provider and staff at the practice did not know that we were coming.
The provider told us that there were plans in place for the practice to move to a new health centre. The move had been planned for September 2013 but had been delayed.
The essential standards of quality and safety requires the premises to be adequately maintenance and appropriate security measures to be in place. However whilst awaiting the move to the new premises adequate maintenance had not been undertaken.
There had been a number of recent break-ins at the practice. The security of the premises was not sufficient to protect the premises and its contents.
