During a routine inspection

At the time of the inspection the service was providing support to three people. We spoke with all three people who used the service and they told us that staff were very kind. One person said, "The staff are nice" and went on to tell us they had been involved in interviewing staff when they were recruited. Another person said, "I'm happy." The third person said staff were supportive and encouraged them to make their own decisions. We also spoke with one person's relative. They told us they were very happy with the service and felt involved in the care provided to their family member.

We found that before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. Where people did not have the capacity to consent, the provider acted in accordance with legal requirements.

People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights. Peoples' needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan.

Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work and there were effective recruitment and selection processes in place.

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received and there was an effective complaints system available. Comments and complaints people made were responded to appropriately.
