During a routine inspection
Care was planned and people's risk was assessed appropriately using the policies and electronic record system the service had in place. Treatment plans were made using a whole person approach and took into account the substance issues each person faced. One person who used the service told us "With their support I am making good progress for the first time in years."
The service co-operated with other providers when responsibility for people's wellbeing was shared. We saw evidence that multidisciplinary care records were used and that the service liaised regularly with people's general practitioner's (GPs) to ensure their welfare.
Staff were appraised annually and were supported to access appropriate professional development to meet their learning needs. We found that staff had the required knowledge to undertake their roles safely and were supervised effectively by managers at the service.
There was a plan in place to assess service quality regularly over the coming year. The service investigated and learned from complaints and incidents and changed practice accordingly.
