All Inspections

28 January 2014

During a routine inspection

We visited the office and reviewed the care plans for three people and saw that a wide variety of assessments were used to plan the care of people, each care plan took into account the individual needs of people and gave consideration to what people wanted from the service. We saw that staff completed the daily records on each visit and the notes reflected the assessments within the care plan. Where people did not have the capacity to make decisions there was no documented evidence of assessments within the care plan, although people who's family members use the service were able to tell us about the assessments that took place from other agencies.

We spoke with four people who told us all the staff were "extremely caring" and "very polite" and that they felt they were well trained. They told us the manager was approachable and would always "try and accommodate" their needs. People told us they felt involved with planning their care and the staff were good at communicating concerns and changes. People told us the staff "do more than they need to" and "use their initiative" which meant that people felt they were considerate of all their needs and they told us this meant they felt safe with the staff.

We saw that people had completed satisfaction surveys and saw that there was good feedback from people about the service; one person had stated they would "recommend them to neighbours". We also saw letters from people thanking the agency for the care they provided.
