Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 14 March 2024

Liscard Group Practice is an NHS GP practice which provides primary medical care services to patients in an area of Merseyside. We carried out an announced assessment of one quality statement, Equity of Access, under the key question Responsive, at the practice on 7 March 2024. We carried out the assessment as part of our work to understand how practices are working to try to meet patient demand and to better understand the experiences of people who use these services and of providers. We recognise the work that GP practices have been engaged in to continue to provide safe, quality care to the people they serve. We know staff are carrying this out whilst the demand for general practice remains exceptionally high, with more appointments being provided than ever. However, in this challenging context, access to general practice remains a concern for people. Our strategy makes a commitment to deliver regulation driven by people’s needs and experiences of care. The assessment of the quality statement Equity of Access includes looking at what practices are doing innovatively to improve patient access to primary care and sharing this information to drive improvement. Overall, Liscard Group Practice is rated as good and the key question Responsive continues to be rated as good. We found that the practice organised services to meet patients’ needs, and that patients are given support to overcome barriers to ensure equal access. The practice understood the challenges to access and used feedback and other data/information to monitor and improve access.

People's experience of the service

Updated 14 March 2024

The 2023 GP patient survey data regarding access showed responses were in line with local and national averages and similar in performance to the previous year’s results. The practice had reviewed the GP patient survey data as part of their primary care network capacity and access plan and had taken action to make improvements. Results from the NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) were reviewed and found to be positive. For example, in February 2024, 111 people responded to the survey and 97% of respondents rated their experience of the service as good or very good. CQC received feedback from 8 patients in response to this assessment, all of which were positive about the service. They included comments about phone calls being answered promptly and the helpfulness of staff.
