The practice is rated as good overall and for all key questions apart from Responsive. Loughton Health Centre provides GP services to patients in Loughton and the surrounding areas, in Essex. We carried out an announced assessment of one quality statement, Equity of Access, under the key question Responsive on the 6 March 2024. We found that the practice had organised services to meet patients’ needs, particularly those who were most likely to have difficulty accessing care. The practice used feedback and other information to monitor and improve access. The practice had taken action to improve access, particularly to how easy it was for patients to contact the practice, but this was not yet reflected consistently in the GP patient survey data or in other sources of patient feedback.

In the 2023 National GP Patient Survey, the practice’s data for access was mixed, but generally below average. Satisfaction was below average for some aspects, especially how easy patients found it to get through to the practice by phone, but broadly in line with average for satisfaction with the appointment offered. The practice had made changes since the last national survey. Recent feedback gathered by the practice and given to us was more positive, but this cannot be compared directly to the National GP Patient Survey.
