During a routine inspection
Those 11 dental treatment records reviewed showed us that people's dental needs were assessed and their individual care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. This demonstrated to us that care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare.
Staff spoken with had a good understanding of safeguarding people and told us that they were confident that they knew what action to take if they observed any potential abuse. This meant that people were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.
We saw the premises were clean and well maintained. The appropriate decontamination equipment was available and being used. This meant that people were protected from the risk of cross infection because appropriate guidance had been followed.
We saw that this service carried out a number of audits. Actions arising from these had been recorded. This showed us that the provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
