Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 30 September to 7 October 2024. Sheet Street Surgery is an NHS GP practice located in Windsor, Berkshire in an area of low deprivation. At the time of our assessment there were approximately 9,000 people registered with the service. We assessed 2 key questions, safe and well-led, and have combined the scores for these areas with the scores from the last inspection. The service had made improvements and is no longer in breach of a regulation. Recruitment processes were now safe and followed guidance, risks associated with the premises were now assessed and managed. Governance processes were now clear, effective and regularly reviewed. People were extremely positive about their experience of care and treatment from the practice. Recent survey results, including the National GP Patient Survey showed people felt staff involved them in decisions about their care and treatment appropriately and listened to them. The practice had an active and supportive Patient Participation Group (PPG) which told us equality of experience was at the heart of every decision the practice made. For example, when modernising the routes of access to the practice, clear consideration was given to those who might have been affected by that change. Further support was provided via provision of digital drop-in clinics to inform people about the methods of access available and tools they could use. People reported staff were extremely kind, caring and compassionate and committed to thoroughly investigating health conditions to optimise their health.
