During a routine inspection
Patients who used the service were given appropriate information and support regarding their care or treatment. One patient told us "I came with a problem and the doctor referred me to the hospital straight away. They told me what to expect so it put my mind at ease'.
Patients told us they thought they were listened to and respected when they saw their doctor or a nurse. Some comments from patients using the service included, "They always make sure the door is closed and I feel confident that everything is confidential'. A staff member told us, 'Where it's needed we have the facilities of chaperone and language interpretation services'. Patients told us they felt reception staff were considerate and took time to listen to them.
There were systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. When we spoke with patients using the service some comments included "This building is spotless when I go the surgery'. Staff had individual responsibilities to maintain a hygienic environment.
