During a routine inspection

We were told a fixed scanner had recently been acquired. This was located in one clinic and in the future would be the primary location for the service. We were unable to speak to people at the time of our visit. However, we spoke with three people by telephone, who had recently attended the clinic. Two people told us they were informed about the service via the website and they had all signed a consent form before their scan to indicate they had been informed about the nature of the scan. People were complimentary about the service they received. One person said '(The sonographer) took enough time for me to make me feel special".

We saw systems were in place that ensured the equipment was suitable and safe to use.
