Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must not admit any new service users to the location, Mulberry House without the prior written agreement of the Care Quality Commission. This includes any respite admissions of service users, service users who are discharged from hospital to the service or any readmissions of service users who have been resident at the home at any time and who may be seeking to return.
The registered provider must ensure that by 4pm December 2021 on 18 December 2021, there is clear guidance for staff relating to every service user at Mulberry House to enable them to manage risks relating to supporting service users to eat and drink, manage the risk of choking, manual handling and equipment, continence management, skin pressure and integrity management, falls, infection control and prevention.
The registered provider must ensure that by 4pm on 18 December 2021 there is clear guidance for staff on how to ensure service users have access to a working call bells at all times and that service users unable to use a call bell are monitored regularly and recorded as checked.
The registered provider must undertake a review of all staff deployed in the home, including agency staff to ensure they are competent to manage risks relating to eating and drinking, managing the risk of choking, manual handling and equipment, falls, continence management, skin pressure and integrity
management, infection control and prevention. This must be completed for all staff on shift by 4pm on 18 December 2021. Competence assessments for other staff should be completed as staff come on to shift.
The registered provider must ensure there is daily oversight and checks on the management of risks relating to eating and drinking, managing the risk of choking, manual handling and equipment, falls, continence management, skin pressure and integrity management, infection control and prevention and
those service users who cannot use a call bell.
The registered provider must send us an action plan detailing the actions taken supported by evidence in relation to conditions 1-4 by 0900 20 December 2021.
