During a routine inspection

People told us that they were treated with dignity and respect and that their opinions were sought so that they were involved in decisions and that they had choice. One person said, 'staff knocked on the door before entering. Staff were friendly and polite.'

People who used the service told us they were happy with the care and treatment they received on the unit. One person told us "I was happy with it (surgery procedure), it was quick. Quite impressed that you could have the surgery on the day and not wait. Staff were lovely.'

We found people received care and treatment in a clean environment with infection control measures in place to minimise the risk of infection. People we spoke with told us the unit was always clean and tidy.

The provider had a satisfactory recruitment and selection procedure in place to ensure that staff were appropriately employed.

The provider had a system in place to deal with comments and complaints. People who used the service could be confident that their comments and complaints were listened to.
