During a routine inspection
Patients were generally satisfied with the care and treatment they received although several patients expressed their frustration with the appointment system. One patient told us, 'I feel looked after. When the flu jabs come they let me know because of my asthma.' Another patient told us, 'We do moan about the appointment system, nothing else. The surgery is quite good.'
We found the arrangements in place to protect patients who may be at risk from abuse were adequate. However, we had some concerns with the management of medicines that were available for the use in an emergency. We found no evidence that these had been regularly checked and some were out of date. We also found the systems in place for monitoring the quality of service provision were not well established and did not incorporate the views of patients who used the service.
