During a routine inspection

At this inspection we found that the practice was in a stage of transition to become part of Coastal Healthcare Ltd with a consequent change of the registered provider. In October 2012 contact had been made between the practice and Coastal Healthcare for organisational and clinical support. The contract variation had recently been approved by the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). We saw that Coastal Healthcare had provided increased nursing input, increased GP input and had established a clear protocol and policy structure for the practice.

We evidenced that all staff have now received updated information governance and safeguarding training which was documented. In discussion with staff all could explain to us that they had an understanding of what information governance meant to them and in their responsibilities regarding the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.

This single handed practice has been taken over as part of a GP providing limited company. The practice appeared to be compliant with the two issues it declared non compliance to on their initial registration but a more detailed inspection should be deferred until the reorganisation has embedded.
